Cost Overview - Batteries
We store all sources and references regarding the costs of marine and land batteries to create an overview of the costs for battery systems. To the right are the data points accumulated so far, where costs are expressed in levelized costs of energy per kWh for a battery system. A great deal of variation occurs, though in general the following rules of thumb apply and can be used to make a business case for your battery system.
Assume €650 – €750 per kWh for the battery pack
Assume €90 – €120 per kW for the inverters/system
For example, if you want a battery pack of 1000 kWh with an invertor of 1500 kW, total costs would be roughly € 700 * 1000 kWh + 100 * 1500 kW = €850.000.
The two data points represent the LCOE for land-based battery systems
